This is an absolutely superb presentation by Irish writer Paul Kingsworth at a conference in Tallin last month, drives home the reality we’re being habituated to
Paul Kingsnorth, "Huxley and the Machine,” Edmund Burke’i Selts, 6/17/24, an hour.
""The 2020s are pushing us, fast and furious, into a new time. We can all sense the craziness in the air, the feeling of our moorings being cut one by one. It feels hard sometimes just to stay upright as we live through what feels like a threefold earthquake: a global ecological breakdown; the cultural disintegration of the West; and the rise of networked technologies of control and surveillance which daily have us tighter in their grip. The powers of the world seem to be merging: corporate power, state power, institutional power, ideological power, the power of the oligarchs who built and control the Internet, the power of the network itself. Some days it can feel as if we are living inside the plot of a piece of twentieth century dystopian sci-fi. The twist is that this time Agent Smith is the hero, while Neo has been dismissed as a far-right conspiracy theorist," said Paul Kingsnorth [1] in his brilliant speech in the international conference on May 24th in Tallinn [2]. Here's Paul's speech in its entirety. With best wishes, H.” [References to Smith and Neo are in regard to The Matrix]
My comments. The quote is an excellent summary of the presentation. A couple of other points. This construct is strongly rooted in Christian idealism, involves the idea of humans becoming like gods by creating a world in their image. The emphasis of the control apparatus has been much more along the lines of Brave New World, getting people to be willing and even cheerful participants in the general system of oppression, vs the coercion portrayed by Nineteen Eighty Four. And in response to a question, Kingswoth acknowledged the reality of several such control machines emerging in the world, akin to the “multi-polar world order,” thus increasingly becoming clashing rivals.
And, i sent the Kingsworth presentation to Eric Francis Coppolino, given how Kingsworth was talking about what Coppolino has been discussing as digital society and digital disembodiment. He responded right away, really liked it, incorporated the presentation into his program.
Take a break from the cares of the world. Planet Waves FM is back.Eric Francis Coppolino, 6/21/24.
Go To New Program [Link. Full program is three hours and 4 minutes]
Good evening,
I return to Planet Waves FM tonight on the occasion of the Northern Solstice Full Moon, with tales of my travels (inner and outer), seeking some understanding of the mental climate under the wild influence of Neptune and Poseidon, and a quick look at news from the Missing Virus front.
And I’ve got a two-faceted Tantra Studio: one is an analysis of guilt and how it seems (or aspires) to rule the world; and holding a mirror to society’s gender mania, with the help of an astrological metaphor. I’ve just finished recording and both are distinctive. In the first, I assess embarrassment, shame and guilt from three perspectives: A Course in Miracles, Gestalt therapy and Tantra. This will get its own player — please check for that later. For now, it’s in the third block starting at 1:27
Planet Waves FM is a mellow program not driven by any special agenda except a quiet, reflective place to hang out. I appreciate the presence of all listeners and visitors. Thank you to my contributors and subscribers for helping provide the basic resources to create and sustain the Planet Waves FM program, and facilitate the other many good works of Chiron Return — the chronology, mentorships, the investigative team, and more..
With love,
My comment at the page, modified.
Jeffrey Strahl, Lockdown Times, 6/21/24.
Excellent integration of KIngsworth’s presentation into the program, including the reading of the quote by him from the You Tube video’s page. Spot on re how the media, both the mainstream legacy media as well as most of the “alternative” and social media, are pushing material which amounts to disorienting people and making them feel like everything is immediately going over the edge.
Cow farts have very little to do with the current climate chaos, likewise emissions from personal vehicles, much much less than industrial emissions. The science is solid, based upon long-term science fields such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and gas dynamics, all subjects i had as an undergrad. The science dates way before computers, let alone computer modeling. Would be happy to explain.
Regarding your lack of faith in the collective. I HEAR you regarding betrayals and disappointments. It's a very complex interaction. Awareness can only come to us one at a time. But unless this is shared, it will stay isolated, without any ability to change squat. I have no faith in grand solutions, i am strongly convinced we need to abandon industrial "civilization" before it kills us and the planet. It is totally unsustainable, and increasingly so even in the short range. How do we once we become aware get together long enough to undo Moloch in total, and then dissolve back, avoiding becoming the new stewards? I think that's where the ample history of spontaneous autonomous struggles can be highly informative.
And, What’s Left covers similar terrain, the Noosphere.
What is the Noosphere? What’s Left?, 6/22/24, an hour and 34 minutes.
"Why would a department of defense think tank like the RAND Corporation be talking about an obscure concept discussed mainly in New Age circles and first introduced by a Jesuit priest (Teilhard de Chardin) over 100 years ago? How is it connected to to a US plan to rule the globe in the 21st century and beyond? What does it tell us about the future our rulers have planned for us? If you want to find, check us out!.”
My comments. Thanks, Kenny, Andy, Alex and Don Eduardo.
Good discussion. Key point about RAND coordinating its work with the Pentagon, especially the Joint Chiefs of Staff/ It does not make military goods but is involved in evaluating the related R&D. And good point re capitalist notions back in the late 19th Century that capital can unite the world and bring peace, till WWI interrupted that dream.
Ending this edition, Riley Waggaman reports on the latest implementation of 4IR in Russia.
Herman Gref is turning frowns upside down! Edward Slavsquat, 6/21/24.
There is a friendly banker in Russia named Herman Gref. You might know him as the former member of the WEF Board of Trustees who authored the preface to the Russian-language edition of Klaus Schwab’s The Fourth Industrial Revolution; additionally, he is celebrated as the financer of Sputnik V, a well-respected cattle tag connoisseur, Russia’s artificial intelligence tsar, and a studious student of the Kabbalah.
None of these accomplishments are related.[Screen shot] You know him. We write about him quite often here on the blog.
Anyway. He has some exciting news for you:[Screen shot] The juicy details:
"Last summer, Sber was the first in Russia to launch a biometric payment project for mass users. Today, about 600,000 terminals are installed throughout the country that can accept payments using biometrics—“Pay With A Smile” with SberPay. By the end of the year there will be more than a million of them. Approximately 30-33% of the total market of operating terminals in the world are located in the Russian Federation. This means that Russia is the only country in the world where payment using biometrics has become available en masse—literally to the entire population of the country. 30 million Sber clients have already connected to the service. Every day, 50 thousand people connect and try this payment method.
“As practice shows, it takes two to three years for people to realize how convenient it is and begin to use it en masse. I think that in a couple of years we will see that, firstly, millions of terminals will appear, and this experience will also be absolutely consistent, both in Moscow and in any small settlement in Kamchatka or Sakhalin, or somewhere in Magadan,” added the head of Sberbank."
I just want to reiterate the CONVENIENCE of “pay with a smile” technology. IT IS CONVENIENT.
HERMAN GREF SAYS SO IN THIS UNSETTLING VIDEO:[Video]
"GREF: In 2023 we began widespread implementation of facial recognition payments. As of now, Russia is the first country in the world that has begun using biometric technology for everyday transactions on a mass scale. We found a way to avoid the use of very expensive 3D cameras, and decreased the cost of the equipment using advanced mathematics. I have to say that it’s way more convenient, even more so than paying with your phone."
If you aren’t convinced yet that Pay With A Smile is the best, most anti-globalist, multipolar and convenient way to pay for stuff, just watch this one-minute Pay With A Smile promo-video featuring a young lady with low self-esteem who meets her true love by paying for a cappuccino with her face:[Video] Or you can watch the award-winning Edward Slavsquat edit:[Video]
